The stoppers do stick or fit in the brackets. They will work if you insert them manually. I would say do not buy.

Mine fell off within 18 hours

Received them yesterday. Installed that afternoon. Wiped surfaces with alcohol pads. This morning both were missing. Found one on the ground behind our Bronco. Not sure what I could have done differently. There were no insulation instructions.
